Your focus should be on:
a) Using correct terminology to identify conventions
b) Backing up your points with specific examples
c) Explaining how it fits the genre
d) Explaining how you have identified the target audience - break down in terms of demographics and psychographics
e) Explaining how it attracts its target audience - this should highlight the importance of the conventions

Never Mind the Buzzcocks has its own YouTube channel and you can watch the last four episodes of The Big Bang Theory on E4 (4OD) as well as multiple repeats everyday on TV.

- Are you pleased with your completed advert? What elements do you think are strongest?
- What elements would you like to change? What would have made your advert more successful?
- Create a table showing the strengths and weaknesses of your advert.
- How have you chosen to represent women? Is this similar to representations of women you have studied in modern adverts?
- What advertising conventions does your advert use? Does it use them effectively?
- What selling techniques does your advert use? Why did you use them? How do they help your product appeal to your target audience?
- Think about where your advert would be seen. What women’s magazines would you find it in? Research women’s magazines – select three you think are the most appropriate and explain why. If it is on a billboard, what type of location would it be in? Why?
The more thought you put into it now the easier it will be in controlled conditions. Remember, it will be on Monday 19th May period 1 and 2.

Year 10, well done for working so hard throughout the Spring term. I am positive you will all do well if you keep it up! So far you have produced some good work for your Advertising coursework. We will continue to work on this when you return in the Summer term.
You will be having an end of year exam on Action Adventure films. Therefore, I would like you to start revision now! Go to the Action Adventure page. There are a number of revision resources for you to use on there.
Complete the quizzes below. Merits for those who do well on them and show improvement. Start at 'flashcards' and do each of the different types of revision until you reach 'space race.' Log in using your gmail so I can see that you have done it.

3. Explain how you are going to appeal to your target audience - link to survey results.
4. Analysis of questionnaire - write a few sentences for each graph/chart explaining how the answers will help you to plan your advert.
All of these tasks should be done on PowerPoint. Tasks 1-3 will be on the same PowerPoint.

Task 1: Carry out research into existing brands
1.1 Find 3 print adverts, from different brands, for your chosen product. On PowerPoint annotate the adverts in terms of:
- codes and conventions
- how it represents women
- appeals used
