Media Literacy

Being media literate is important in contemporary society as we need to know how to access, critically evaluate and create media.

Wider "reading"

As well as traditional academic reading, in media studies "reading" refers to consuming a wide range of media products and creating media products using a range of software.

Podcasts - available via the BBC Sounds App

The Media Show  - Social media, anti-social media, breaking news, faking news: this is the programme about a revolution in media, with Amol Rajan, the BBC's media editor. New episode every Wednesday.

Beyond Today - One big question about one big story from the news - and beyond - every weekday. Tina Daheley and Matthew Price search for answers that will change the way we see the world.

The Bottom LineEvan Davis hosts the business conversation show with people at the top giving insight into what matters. Not always directly linked to the media industry, but still very interesting.

Subscribe to the magazine The Week Junior.   It explains the news and events in ways that young people understand; immediate, colourful, exciting.
